Choosing the Right Grade

Noble

Our cleanest grade, these boards will contain very minimal sapwood and no heartwood. You will only find small knots up to approx. 15mm diameter with relatively small colour variation between boards. Perfect for modern or ultra modern spaces.

Origin

Origin grade allows for more of the natural characteristics to shine through. Small amounts of sapwood and hints of heartwood. These boards will show natural colour variation and allow knots up to 60mm. Perfect in any space.

Character

A more rustic grade allowing for the true character of the oak to be admired. Unlimited knots, both open and sound, cracks and splits along the face and the ends. Unlimted sapwood and heartwood allowed and a wider range of colour variation. Well suited to more traditional spaces.

Adding Texture.

Wood by its very nature is packed full of unique characteristics from its colour variety, knots, sapwood and heartwood but by adding different surface textures to compliment the woods overall look you can really enhance the natural beauty of the oak.

It’s important to understand the different textures and how they effect the overall look of your floor. Each texture adds a different look and finding the right balance is essential to getting the right style for your space. Read our guide on surface textures here.

Carefully Curated Tones.

Each floor is carefully hand finished with hardwax oils to your specification. Hard wearing and natural looking, each coat of oil is buffed into the surface and then air dried to create a breathable protective finish.

Our extensive collection of oils allow us to blend different colours to create the perfect tone to compliment any interior. Discover a small showcase of some of our most popular tones here.

Making a Statement.

Patterned flooring is simply anything outside the standard plank format, from a subtle Herringbone pattern to more complex geometric designs creating a unique style in both contemporary and traditional design schemes.

We offer a wide range of classic formats through to bespoke designs on request. Each one masterfully hand crafted to order by our skilled craftspeople using the highest quality sustainable Oak, responsibly sourced from European forests.

It’s in the finest of details

The Bevel

Bevelled edges accentuate the width of the boards and hide natural movement. This edge style lends itself to contemporary spaces creating a modern look when paired with our noble grade boards.

Square Edge

A square edge can provide a more traditional look but also works well in modern spaces helping make your space feel bigger. We tend to use a square edge for our patterned and panelled flooring where a clean crisp finish is desired.

Distressed Edge

To compliment an authentic aged look we can add a distressed edge to the board. Perfect for more traditional schemes, further enhancing the aged look appeal and charm.
